One of my classmates called me Emo when he saw my long bangs. I wonder why. So for curiosity sake, I researched the term Emo in the Internet and I found out that Emo might refer to:

  • Emo (music), a music style previously known as "emotional hardcore" or "emocore"
  • Emo (slang), a slang term used to describe a wide range of fashion styles and attitudes somewhat affiliated with emo music.
  • Emo (album), an album by Screeching Weasel
  • Emo (oil), an Irish oil company and filling station chain
  • Emo's, a nightclub in Austin, Texas
  • Emo Philips, an American stand-up comedian
  • Emo, County Laois, a town in the Republic of Ireland
  • Emo, Ontario, a town in Canada
  • Emo Speedway, a racetrack in Emo, Ontario
  • Eric Moulds, wide receiver for the Houston Texans (formerly Buffalo Bills) (fan slang)
  • How to be: Emo, an internet movie explaining the subculture of emo and emo music
  • Keith Emerson, famed British keyboardist/pianist
  • Villa Emo, a 16th century villa by Andrea Palladio
  • Emo Boy, a comic book by Steve Emond, published by Slave Labor Graphics
  • "Emo", a song by Blink-182
  • Emo, a character in the movie Elephants Dream Emo, an abbreviation of given names like Emil and Emanuil

In my friend’s profile I also noticed the term Emo and based on my observation, they are group of teenagers who share the same interests: The Emo music genre and the Emo bands like My Chemical Romance. They also have the same looks: Long bangs, bruised eyes, black clothes and accessories. In short, they have devilish looks. Well I just hope that these guys and girls do not have a devilish attitude. If yes, then consider me as an EMO. If not, then terminate. getch()
