Lo Lieh (1939 - 2002) was one of the first Hong Kong martial-arts stars going international. Popular in the 1970s, his King Boxer in 1972 became one of the 10 highest grossing film in the world, paving his way to join the Hollywood even before Bruce Lee. Lo joined the Shaw Brothers Studio in 1962, and made over 80 films in his acting career. Among them is The Dragon Missile (1978), directed by famous Shaw Brothers director Ho Meng Hua and written by Ni Kuang, who later became extremely popular with her sci-fi novels. Bodyguard (Lo Lieh) of a wicked official kills a herbal doctor to obtain the "longevity ivy" to cure his master's disease. The doctor's brother (Lau Wing) steals the magical plant from this bodyguard, unveiling a fierce battle between the good and the evil...
