Of all the viruses and spywares I encountered, the Yahoo Messenger Virus is the most intriguing. Surely, it will spread immediately and you might be the next victim. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to heal the virus using my Anti-Virus Software. However, I was able to recover from the said virus. Here are the simple tips on how to recover from the Yahoo Messenger Virus:

1. Uninstall the Yahoo Messenger. Download the latest version or try to use Windows Live Messenger.

2. Delete the temporary internet files and install a different browser (eg: Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape Navigator, Opera) and make it your default browser.

3. Enable the Task Manager:

• Click Start
  
• Click Run
  
• Enter gpedit.msc in the Open box and click OK
  
• In the Group Policy settings window
  
• Select User Configuration
  
• Select Administrative Templates
  
• Select System
  
• Select Ctrl+Alt+Delete options
  
• Select Remove Task Manager
  
• Double-click the Remove Task Manager option
